 OUR MISSION!

Stone Soup Community Kitchen : Creating Community Through Cooking

Vision:

A supportive, inclusive community where everyone learns to cook with fresh, healthy food from a flourishing market of sustainable local farms.

Mission:

• to grow a sustainable local food economy and support farmers by using local food to prepare community meals, can and preserve local food and inspire local food businesses, which will create more demand for local, healthy food.

• to provide a space for individuals to cook together using fresh, healthy, local food and to share practical skills that will help make local food more affordable.

• to increase in underserved areas the availability of fresh, local food and the skills and experience with which to prepare it.

• to create a community of people from varied backgrounds and cultures through cooking local food.

 



 

Dates and Locations for the 2009 Season

June 6, 4pm: Affordable Meals with Fresh, local food, Fb3 Food Development Kitchen, 624 E. Market St. (FB3 is next to Muth Candy Shop.)

June 18, 5pm: Affordable Meals with Fresh, local food Wheatley Elementary, in conjunction with California Collaborative network nites

July 18, 4pm: Americana Community Center August 8, 2pm: Canning and Food Preservation. Fb3 Development Kitchen

September 19, 2pm: Victory park farmers market, open air kitchen

October 3, 4pm: Winter Soups, Fb3 Development Kitchen

November 7, 4pm: Americana Community Center
